Hi, I'm Noriko.
As a photographer, I’m motivated by authenticity. I document life and people with the purpose of showing something real and true that may have otherwise been overlooked. During a portrait session, my goal is to capture a glimpse of the unique person your child is right now. It's about them and how they choose to present themselves. Whatever they are feeling, and whoever they want to be in that moment, that's what these portraits are about.
Why specialize in school portraits?
As a mother of three, I know nothing changes faster than our own children. You blink and a year has gone by. Your toddler's soft pudgy cheeks melt away to reveal a jawline. Your preschooler's wide eyed excitement over a particularly colorful leaf evolves to more mature interests...like Pokemon. Toothless grins are traded in for the awkward years in braces. Every time you turn around there's a new favorite color, a new signature fashion choice, a new facial expression. I'd love to tell you I savor every moment and permanently commit them to memory. Truthfully, I often get wrapped up in the day to day, and I don't stop to obsess over the details of their precious faces until they are all asleep and I'm getting lost in the nostalgia of photos I just took "yesterday."
